Smart Energy Lab

EDGE makes EV charging practical and scalable in shared residential and workplace parking. Our integrated hardware and software solution intelligently manages multiple EV chargers within the limited electrical capacity of a building. EDGE dynamically allocates available power, identifies users, records individual consumption and provides the operational data required for transparent cost allocation and service management.

How would you explain your business model?

EDGE combines hardware sales, recurring software revenue and partner-enabled deployment. The commercial model has four complementary components. First, site deployment: EDGE hardware and commissioning are supplied as part of the initial installation, with the configuration depending on the building, the available electrical capacity and the number of chargers or users to be managed. Second, recurring platform subscription: building owners, condominium managers, operators or commercial partners pay a recurring fee for charging management, monitoring, data services, user administration and technical support. Third, user and transaction services: where appropriate, EDGE can support user identification, consumption calculation, payment workflows and transparent allocation of charging costs, with additional service fees associated with these operational functions. Fourth, B2B2C and white-label partnerships: utilities, EV charging operators, equipment distributors, property managers and installer networks can offer EDGE under a co-branded or white-label model, giving partners a differentiated charging solution without requiring them to develop their own hardware and energy-management platform. The model is designed for international replication. EDGE retains control of the core technology and platform while qualified local partners support sales, installation and first-line customer service. This reduces expansion costs, improves local market access and creates recurring revenue as the installed base grows.

What makes your idea unique compared to your competitors?

EDGE is an intelligent, charger-agnostic operating layer for shared-building EV charging. It coordinates available building power, chargers from different manufacturers, user access and charging data, enabling condominiums and offices to scale EV charging without unnecessary grid upgrades or vendor lock-in.

Where do you see your company in the next 5 years?

Over the next five years, EDGE aims to become a leading European platform for intelligent EV charging in shared residential and workplace buildings. Our development will focus on five priorities: scaling the installed base by moving from individual deployments to repeatable portfolios of condominiums, offices and managed parking facilities; building an international partner network through partnerships with utilities, property managers, charging operators, distributors and certified installers in selected European markets; expanding hardware interoperability by integrating additional charger manufacturers and standardised interfaces, making EDGE an increasingly open operating layer for building charging infrastructure; developing energy-flexibility services that evolve smart charging capabilities to respond to electricity prices, building constraints, local renewable production and grid signals, with internal regulatory analysis already identifying smart charging, interoperability, APIs and energy flexibility as strategically relevant capabilities for the EDGE ecosystem; and offering EDGE as a configurable platform, providing modular, white-label and API-based versions of the solution for utilities and mobility-service providers seeking to deploy their own branded customer propositions. Our five-year ambition is not simply to install more charging points. It is to create the scalable energy-management infrastructure that allows millions of European buildings to support electric vehicle charging efficiently, affordably and at scale.
