Dr. Arndt von Twickel is Head of Division D 23 – Transport and Industry 4.0 at the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), a role he has held since early 2023. His division is responsible for cybersecurity in the digitalization of road transport and Industry 4.0, including vulnerability and incident analysis, technical projects on emerging vehicle and infrastructure technologies, and the development of technical guidelines and testing requirements. Dr. von Twickel joined the BSI in 2018, where he worked as a technical officer and project manager on biometrics, artificial intelligence, and automotive security before taking on his current leadership role.

Before joining the BSI, he worked as a researcher and lecturer in neurobiology, neuroinformatics, and robotics at several research institutions, and holds a PhD with a research background spanning biometrics, face recognition, neurorobotics, and evolutionary robotics.
